• Build forms - Construct sturdy wooden forms to hold the concrete in place as it cures. Forms should be level, plumb, and securely braced. Coat forms with release agent so concrete won't stick.

• Place steel reinforcement - Cut and bend rebar as needed and place inside forms to reinforce the concrete. Steel should be suspended with chairs/bolsters and secured so it doesn't shift during the pour.
